At the GreatLander we gladly accept ads via e-mail, ftp site, or on disk. This benefits you, the client, by eliminating shipping fees and velox production costs. The quality of your ad is enhanced when printed directly from your digital file, bypassing second and third generations. This also allows the client to utilize the higher print resolution of our image-setter. The FTP site is an easy, fairly quick way to send your ad electronically. Our site is ftp://anchorageprinting.com. To upload your ad, log on to the site; click on "Clients Directory." From the file menu select "upload file", and then select file to upload when prompted.

There are some ways to help ensure a trouble free output for your ad:

IMAGE FILES Please include all placed files on your disk, including those placed or embedded within these files. We accept TIFFS, EPS, or DCS. Please do not send JPEGS, BMP, PICTS or GIFS. Color files should be saved as CMYK and grayscale files should be 8 bit. When using PhotoShop EPS, the file must be saved with binary encoding. Do not save the linescreen with the file unless this is something you specifically desire. Please make a note of this in your instructions. TIFFS should be saved in binary MAC format.

VECTOR FILES (Illustrator, Freehand, etc.) All vector files should be saved as an EPS. Be sure to include all fonts used in the artwork or preferably convert to outline.

FOR BOTH QUARK & PAGEMAKER, be sure to include all fonts and artwork used in documents. Fonts must be postscript type 1 or true type for MAC. We cannot use PC fonts.

QUARK Be sure to update links after saving to disk

PAGEMAKER Always link and include placed files on disk rather than embedding in PM document.

PDF Optimize for the Press. If you are in doubt about the best setting for optimization, call us. Embed all fonts in your PDF file.

If the ad is coming in on disk rather than via email or ftp site, please include a proof.
